Duane Allman Of The Allman Brothers

Howard Duane Allman was born in America in the year 1946, November 20. He is a stalwart guitarist, the world over and is famous for playing the slide guitar and for his improvisational skills. In the year 2003, Rolling Stone Magazine proved the claim right by announcing him as the second in hierarchy of all the greatest guitarists of all time. He founded the band The Allman Brothers with his brother Gregg. He also worked with Clapton in the "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs". Allman Brothers started their debut in the world of music in the year 1961. There was a band that they had formed in their early years named the "Allman Joys". However, later on, the band metamorphed into a new band called "The Hour Glass", which however was not as successful as the predecessor was. The Hour Glass eventually split in the year 1968 and the two brothers separated in their quest for music. In the year 1969, he gathered strength and formed the band "The Allman Brothers" with other musicians all of whom are excellent in their own ways and thus the band was a great hit. During the Allman Brother's band period, Duane also played for the Fame Recording Studio as a session musician.

The Allman Brother's band's first studio album is the "The Allman Brothers Band" and Idyllwild South" in the year 1970 and 1971 respectively. The albums featured songs like "Dreams", "Whipping Post", "Midnight Rider" and "Revival". The songs were hard sounds of southern rock.

However, the band could not stand the continuous blows of time and dismantled in the year 1982. However, they tried a revival again in the year 1989 with new addition of musicians. Their most reputed albums are the "Shades of Two World" and "Where it All Begins". The band however continues to perform today even after Allman died in 1971, October 29.
