B.B. King Is The King Of Blues

The great guitarist was born Riley B. King in the year 1925, September 16. He is a singer-cum-songwriter and an American Blue guitarist. The Rolling Stone Magazine in the year 2003 marked him the third greatest guitarist of all time only preceded by Hendrix and Duane.

He is also known as the "King of the Blues" and "Ambassador of the Blues". Other than rock music, the versatile genius had had the taste of almost all the genres of music including the pop and jazz. B.B. King changed with the flow of time and manipulated his singing talent to adhere to the time he is singing for.

B.B. King debut in the world of music in the year 1948 when he performed on the "Sonny Boy Williamson's" radio program. The program ran by the name "King's Spot" and it became very popular. Later the name was changed to Blues Boy King thus, B.B. King.

In the year 1950, B.B. King became an important and one of the most renowned singers of the R&B music. He created songs like the "you know I love you", "when my heart beats like a hammer", "bad luck", "Woke up this morning", Whole lotta love", "you upset me baby", "on my word of honor" and "ten long years" are the most significant of the lot.

An unusual achievement outside the domain of the Blues is the remake of the Roy Hawking's music creation "The Thrill is Gone" that surprisingly became a huge hit on both the pop and the R&B charts.

B.B. King ruled the charts for over 52 years, recorded thousands of songs, and performed in atleast 15000 live programs. His legacy continues until today even if now age has slowed his body down.
