Stephan "Stevie" Ray Vaughan was a blues-rock guitarist born in Dallas, Texas in the year 1954, October 3. He is one of the most influential electric-blues guitarists of all time. The main characteristic of the songs of Stevie is the heavy strings of the guitar accompanied by his warm blue rock tones. In the year 2003, Rolling stone ranked him 7 among the world's famous 100 guitarist of all time. The Classic Rock Magazine claimed him the third position holder among the 100 Wildest Guitar Heroes of all time in the year 2007.
Vaughan also won three awards in the following categories- "Best New Talent", "Best Blues Album" and "Best Electric Blues Guitarist" in the Guitar Player's reader poll. The most interesting fact is that since then Vaughan won "The Best Electric Blues Guitarist" award every year until 1991.
Vaughan is a versatile character and he featured in the 1983 album "Lets Dance". His next work was the album "Couldn't Stand The Weather" in the year 1984. While performing on the "Rockpalast", "MuchMusic" and "Solid Gold", he made innumerable Television appearances. With the band Double Trouble he played Carneigie hall in 1984. In the same year Vaughan won two of the W.C Handy National Blues Awards: for "Entertainer of the Year" and "Blues Instrumentalist of the Year" Awards. He also tried his hands on the production and produced the album "Strike Like Lightenning" for Lonnie Mack.
In the year 1985, he was nominated for the Grammy awards for "Best Rock Instrumental Performance" for the song "Say What!"
However, he died of a sudden heart failure in the year 1990. But, he was inducted into the hall of fame post his death in the year 2000. The last guitar that Vaughan played is on display in the Hard Rock Cafe.
Charles Edward Anderson "Chuck" Berry was an American guitarist, singer and songwriter who was born in St. Louis, Missouri in the year 1926, October 18. He is considered as on of the pioneers of rock and roll. According to the Hall of Fame, "While no individual can be said to have invented rock and roll, Chuck Berry comes the closest of any single figure to being the one who put all the essential pieces together".
He was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame during the introductory time of its emergence in the year 1986. In 2000, he received the "Kennedy Center Honors". In the following years, he ranked number 6 among 100, on the Rolling Stone rankings and in the same year, he was placed among The Immortals: The First Fifty. Among the 500 songs that modeled Rock and Roll, Chuck sang "Johnny B. Good", "Maybellene" and the "Rock and Roll Music". He laid the stance for the Rock and Roll music.
The rock and roll music got its most archetypal character in the song, "Johnny B. Goode". In the year 1964, he introduced some more of the famous numbers- "No Particular Place To Go", "You Never Can Tell", "Promised Land". However, his most famous remain the "My Ding-a-Ling" in the year 1972. Among his achievements, he sang at the White House in the year 1979. In the same year itself, he released his last studio album "Rockit" under Atco Records. Robert Leroy Johnson was a combination feature of a singer, songwriter, and guitarist who was born in the year 1911, on the 8th of May. He is one of the influential musicians of the Delta blues. His music has influenced a great many musicians including John Forgerty, Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, The Allman Brothers Band, The Rolling Stones, Paul Butterfield, The Black Keys, The Band, Neil Young, Warren Zevon, The Yardbirds and many others. Although, his music career ended in the year 1938, with his early death at the age of 27, he is still considered the greatest influence that the music world received as a guitarist. Eric Clapton called Robert Johnson as "the most important blues musician who ever lived". Robert Johnson was also recognized as the fifth great musician according to the Rolling Stones ranking. He is also the inductee to "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame".
Robert Johnson debut in the year 1936, November 23 in San Antonio, Texas. The birth of the sound, which took place on that day, changed the American music forever. He practiced reaffirmation of his songs through remakes and applied the works of other great artists in them.

Eric Patrick Clapton aka Eric Clapton aka Slowhand was born to be a great guitarist of all times in the year 1945, March 30. He won the Grammy Award for his contributions to the world of music in the year 1998. He won the "Record of the Year" category, which featured numbers like "Change the World".
Clapton was equally flexible in all the genres of music including rock, reggae, and Delta blues to pop. This extraordinary talent is evident form the creations like "Change The World"(pop), "Me and Mr. Johnson"(Delta blues)and reggae song, "I Shot The Sheriff".
He rose to the upper berth of the fame through the "Derek and Dominos" featuring the song "Layla". In the year 1963, Clapton joined the rock and roll band influenced by the blues, "The Yardbirds". With the other leading guitarists, he played a unique style of his own that became famous in the British music circle. In April of 1965, Clapton joined the "John Mayall and The Bluesbreakers". Working with them at the nightclubs made him popular in the whole world. During this time, he brought out the influential album "Blues Breakers". However, he left the Bluesbreakers and formed what later turned out to be one of the supergroups, The "Cream". It is considered as the power trio with Eric as the guitarist, Jack Bruce on bass and Ginger Baker on the drums. His years at the Cream, developed him as a songwriter, singer and developed him as a guitarist.
However, the late 1960's saw the emergence of many of his rivalries. However, Clapton continued his strive for the recognition as the stalwart of guitar in the world of pop music and created soulful ("I Feel Free") to instrumental jams based on blues ("Spoonful"). He continues to delight the music lovers.
The great guitarist was born Riley B. King in the year 1925, September 16. He is a singer-cum-songwriter and an American Blue guitarist. The Rolling Stone Magazine in the year 2003 marked him the third greatest guitarist of all time only preceded by Hendrix and Duane.
He is also known as the "King of the Blues" and "Ambassador of the Blues". Other than rock music, the versatile genius had had the taste of almost all the genres of music including the pop and jazz. B.B. King changed with the flow of time and manipulated his singing talent to adhere to the time he is singing for.
B.B. King debut in the world of music in the year 1948 when he performed on the "Sonny Boy Williamson's" radio program. The program ran by the name "King's Spot" and it became very popular. Later the name was changed to Blues Boy King thus, B.B. King.
In the year 1950, B.B. King became an important and one of the most renowned singers of the R&B music. He created songs like the "you know I love you", "when my heart beats like a hammer", "bad luck", "Woke up this morning", Whole lotta love", "you upset me baby", "on my word of honor" and "ten long years" are the most significant of the lot.
An unusual achievement outside the domain of the Blues is the remake of the Roy Hawking's music creation "The Thrill is Gone" that surprisingly became a huge hit on both the pop and the R&B charts.
B.B. King ruled the charts for over 52 years, recorded thousands of songs, and performed in atleast 15000 live programs. His legacy continues until today even if now age has slowed his body down.
Howard Duane Allman was born in America in the year 1946, November 20. He is a stalwart guitarist, the world over and is famous for playing the slide guitar and for his improvisational skills. In the year 2003, Rolling Stone Magazine proved the claim right by announcing him as the second in hierarchy of all the greatest guitarists of all time. He founded the band The Allman Brothers with his brother Gregg. He also worked with Clapton in the "Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs". Allman Brothers started their debut in the world of music in the year 1961. There was a band that they had formed in their early years named the "Allman Joys". However, later on, the band metamorphed into a new band called "The Hour Glass", which however was not as successful as the predecessor was. The Hour Glass eventually split in the year 1968 and the two brothers separated in their quest for music. In the year 1969, he gathered strength and formed the band "The Allman Brothers" with other musicians all of whom are excellent in their own ways and thus the band was a great hit. During the Allman Brother's band period, Duane also played for the Fame Recording Studio as a session musician.
The Allman Brother's band's first studio album is the "The Allman Brothers Band" and Idyllwild South" in the year 1970 and 1971 respectively. The albums featured songs like "Dreams", "Whipping Post", "Midnight Rider" and "Revival". The songs were hard sounds of southern rock.
However, the band could not stand the continuous blows of time and dismantled in the year 1982. However, they tried a revival again in the year 1989 with new addition of musicians. Their most reputed albums are the "Shades of Two World" and "Where it All Begins". The band however continues to perform today even after Allman died in 1971, October 29.
Jimi Hendrix, one of the greatest influential guitarists of all time, was born in America on November 27, 1942. He was a versatile personality who was a songwriter, singer and nevertheless a guitarist, all packed into one. His rise to fame in the world of rock music initialized in Europe and after his 1967 performance in the USA at The Monterey Pop Festival, the next big thing that followed is that he got the opportunity to headline the 1969 Woodstock Festival.
The influence of the blues artists like the B.B. King, Muddy waters, Elmore James can be recognized in the works of Jimi Hendrix. However, according to Carlos Santana, Jimi's music was influenced by his native land America's heritage and culture.
In the year 1965, Jimi formed his first band named "Jimi James and the Blue Flames" with other artists like the Isley Brothers and Curtis Knight and were joined by various other artists. In the year 1966, he formed another band, "The Jimi Hendrix Experience" with few others like guitarist-turned-bassist Noel Redding, and Mitch Mitchell. With his performances at the various parts of the continent Europe, he acquired himself a name in the rock music world. Hendrix's first album was "Hey Joe' and his debut songwriting effort was for the song "Stone Free". Purple Haze" featured "Hendrix Chord" and "The Wind Cries Mary" that brought him immense success. These songs later proved to be a huge hit among various distant parts of the world including Europe, Australia to Japan. He was also practicing live performances and hit the stage with B.B King hit "Rock Me Baby" and a version of Howling Wolf's song "killing Floor". The first Hendrix experience album is "Are You Experienced", released in the United Kingdom in the year 1967. However, the career of Jimi Hendrix came to a standstill with his death in the year 1970.
